Thanks for coming by my blog and hope you'll be coming back to see the updates of my personal projects.
My main goal is to create various reel-worthy short animations. In the process I will learn how to improve on my time management, organization, professionalism and importantly, animation skills.
Obviously my first few works won't the best, however, by the fifth or sixth or fiftieth animations, I could picked up enough what not to do and what I should do to be a better animator and create awesome animation work.
Most importantly, have an awesome time! ENJOY, because it will SHOW through whatever you're doing.
So with that, I'll leave you with some great advice my friend sent me, he got this from a personal letter from Dave Brewster.
"In your animation it is best to have acting rather than just general cycles. The mechanics can be learned but the ability to understand/ research/ describe emotional portrayals can be illusive. That is really the art and the illusion. Great drawing may impress but animation at it's heart is acting. To me a good knowledge of filmmaking/ storyboards really can help you to plan for doing your animation and it will really show in the actual execution of the acting.
And last, if animating is what you like don't let anything put you off. There are many rather large ego's out there and the individual's ability to succeed depends on their desire to reach their goal, not on anyone's opinion of your skills at any point. The competition is totally within yourself and you is the only person you should compete with. If you are missing any skills in one area you are probably much stronger in others. Have faith that you will learn the things you need to know in time.
Dave Brewster"
